Recap
Summary:
In order to sum up, the fundamental “formula” of Gestalt theory might be demonstrated this way. There are wholes, the behavior of which is not determined by that of their individual elements, but where the part-processes are themselves determined by the intrinsic nature of the whole. It is the hope of Gestalt theory to determine the nature of wholes.
Gestalt is foremost an experiential approach to life that changes our primary self-orientation from analysis and conceptual reasoning to awareness expansion, spontaneous recognition, and life re-vision. It is a method that allows us to step out of the inherently objectifying, dissassociative, and fragmenting process of self-analysis and experience ourselves as we actually are here and now this moment.
Gestalt practice is returning to our fundamental experience and accepting ourselves as we are, instead of how we could be, should be, will be, or were in our lives.
